Education

Peter Correa was born in Rio do Janeiro, Brazil, but he immigrated to the United States and finished high school in Fort Myers, Florida. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, in 1973, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Leadership. Correa spent 24 years as an Officer in the United States Army, earning a master’s degree in Financial Management at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. He retired from active duty in 1996 as a Lieutenant Colonel, and his military assignments included service as:  

  • An Airborne Ranger Infantry Officer defending the Panama Canal  
  • Military Assistant to the CFO of the National Security Agency (NSA)  
  • Director of Support of the U.S. Army Russian Institute in Garmisch, West Germany  
  • Staff Finance Officer for Forces Command in Atlanta, Georgia  
  • Finance Officer in support of the Defense Logistics Agency (Dobbins AFB-Atlanta)
  • Assistant Dean and Treasurer at the United States Military Academy (West Point)  

Lieutenant Colonel Correa has been serving as an educator at numerous colleges and universities since he left the service in 1996 to include his current tour of duty at ÈÕº«ÂÒÂ× University. He and his wife (Charlene) have been married almost 49 years, and they have two adult children.
